DR. KURT H. BECKER
DEPARTMENT HEAD, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION

Dr. Becker serves as Co-Principal Investigator and Project Manager for NCETE. He is the department head of Engineering and Technology Education at USU. He has been involved in education for 25 years as a technology education instructor, an industrial trainer, and as a teacher educator at the university level. He has extensive experience in designing and developing instructional materials for technology education, as well as evaluation, assessment and adult learning. Dr. Becker has national and international experience working on various projects that include external evaluator on a Capacity Building Project for the U.S. Department of Education (1999-2000), instructor training consultant for the Thailand Skills Development Project funded by the Asian Development Bank (1997-2002), and currently as consultant on USAID funded projects that involve workforce development and enterprise competitiveness. He has numerous publications in technology education and international training. Dr. Becker works with structural design and CAD systems, workforce development, and has worked with the State of California in the area of CAD training for engineers and architects.
