Scott Johnson

Scott Johnson is a Professor of Human Resource Education in the College of Education and Chief Information Officer and Associate Dean for Online Learning and Chief Information Officer, College of Education.  He has been involved in technology education and human resource development for over 25 years as a technology teacher, an instructional designer in industry, and as a teacher educator at the university level. Dr. Johnson specializes in cognition, problem solving, and instructional design, methods, and technologies. He co-developed the Academy for Excellence in Engineering Education, which works to enhance the instruction provided by faculty and teaching assistants in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois. He was named a University Scholar in 2003 and received the Campus Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Teaching from the University of Illinois in 2004.

Ty Newll

Ty Newell is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering. His research interests include thermodynamics, renewable energy, energy efficiency, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer. Over the years, his teaching has been recognized by the department, the college and the university. He has received the Everitt Award for Teaching Excellence, the College of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award, the BP Amoco Award for Innovation in Undergraduate Instruction, the Rose Award for Teaching Excellence, and the Campus Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. Dr. Newell joined the Mechanical Engineering faculty in 1980.
