Dr. Litchfield serves as Senior Personnel for the NCETE UIUC site and as the primary liaison with the engineering program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He developed the Engineering Emotional Intelligence program and directed Learning in Community, a service learning/community engagement program for engineering students. He is currently co-director of the Academy of Excellence in Engineering Education (AE3), a program designed to enhance the instruction provided by faculty in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign named him Distinguished Teacher/Scholar in 2003.
