Dr. Johnson serves as Principal Investigator on the NCETE UIUC site. He is a Professor and Head of the Department of Human Resource Education in the College of Education at the University of Illinois. He has been involved in technology education and human resource development for over 25 years as a technology teacher, an instructional designer in industry, and as a teacher educator at the university level. Dr. Johnson specializes in cognition, problem solving, and instructional design, methods, and technologies. He co-developed the Academy for Excellence in Engineering Education, which works to enhance the instruction provided by faculty and teaching assistants in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois. He was named a University Scholar in 2003 and received the Campus Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Teaching from the University of Illinois in 2004.
