Dr. Thompson serves as Senior Personnel for the NCETE UGA site. He presently serves as the co-op coordinator for his department and was named the U. H. Davenport Professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering in 1999. Dr. Thompson has been named Teacher of the Year by the students in his department nine times during his 22 years of teaching. He was awarded the D. W. Brooks Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1998. Dr. Thompson primarily teaches in the areas of mechanics and structural design and serves this project in the area of connecting technology education with engineering.
