Douglas Walrath

Douglas Walrath received a BS in technology education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and an MS in industrial technology education from Utah State University. He has nine years of teaching experience at Wood River Middle School in Hailey, Idaho. He has been recognized by ITEA for teaching excellence. Doug was elected to the ITEA board of directors for the 2004-06 school years. In 2003, Idaho Governor, Dirk Kempthorne, awarded Doug the Governor’s Industry Award for Notable Teaching in Science (GIANTS). Also in 2003, Doug was selected as a NASA finalist for the Educator Astronaut position. Doug is active in the Network of Educator Astronaut Teachers program as an advocate of NASA’s mission with education.
